Manager Children’s Home - Oxfordshire

Salary £ 41.000 – £ 44.300 / annum (37 hours / week)
Location Oxfordshire
Requirements
o Social Work / Social Pedagogy qualification
o Minimum of 2 years in post as manager/deputy manager, involving all aspects of staff supervision and operational management, ideally in a residential / children’s home setting
o Significant experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties within the last 5 years
o Outstanding leadership and motivational skills and passion for delivering best practice to children in care
o Excellent English skills
Background
You will manage a children’s home (6 bed capacity) for boys or girls aged 12-17 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The aim is to provide stable, high quality long-term placements. You will not only be managing staff, you will be an inspirational leader to them, and injecting energy and motivation into the workplace.
Role
Your role a home manager includes amongst others:
- Delivering best practice for children in care, including compliance with UK legislation
- Engaging with children and their families, work in partnership
- Implementation of Placement Plans addressing the needs of the children / young people
- Recruitment, induction, supervision and professional development of staff
- Managing the efficient running of the Children’s Home as well as it’s budget.
